JAPANESE cuisine consists of many delicious kinds of food, prepared and served in a number of different ways. For each kind of food there is just the right way to devour it.
An example is sushi. The traditional method of eating this popular kind of Japanese food is not by using chopsticks, but by using your bare hands to dip it in soy sauce before putting it in your mouth.
If you are interested in knowing more about Japanese food, Fukuoka Potate Sushi is the place to start. The Japanese restaurant, which opened in 1996, offers a very large variety of sushi, sashimi, rice, noodles and specialty appetizers at bargain prices.
Located in the lobby of Development Center in bustling Luohu District, Fukuoka doesn't boast eye-catching signboards to impress passers-by. Also do not expect to see a sophisticated Japanese-style interior with kimono-dressed waitresses escorting guests to their table.
What you will see here, however, is the wonder of Japanese food. More than 100 varieties of sushi are served at Fukuoka, moving slowly on a rotating sushi bar. To name a few, cherry sushi and jellyfish sushi are at eight yuan per dish, while tuna sushi and sesame octopus sushi cost 12 yuan each set. And eel sushi and crab roe sushi cost 15 yuan each. The Fukuoka chefs have also created many kinds of sushi to satisfy the palate of Westerners, which include cheese crab roe sushi, goose liver sushi, and crab salad sushi.
Besides, sashimi such as purplish amberjack, mackerel, tuna, scallop, raw oyster and sea urchin, costing between 60 yuan and 138 yuan, are there for the delight of gourmets. Japanese raw beef, 218 yuan per set, is really worth it when compared with other expensive Japanese restaurants that charge more than 500 yuan.
Offering more than food, the restaurant also tries to enlighten patrons about Japanese cuisine with printed materials. For example, the definitions of honzen, kaisek, kaiseki and katei, food served at various social occasions, are provided. |
